Warema Controls

WAREMA central controls are the principle range used for residential and simple commercial applications.

Included in this range are control devices with single purpose functions (e.g. retraction of an awning in windy weather) through to feature rich systems with inbuilt multiple functions (e.g. sun, wind, rain sensoring for example).

All these control devices can operate single products or via a network of motor control units, many products.

In choosing a suitable system for your needs the principle considerations are the number of channels and functions required.

General System Characteristics and Functionality explained

The following table lists control system characteristics, a description of those characteristics and their availability within each WAREMA control system.

Key

yes Feature is standard
no Feature is not available
maybe Feature may be possible with additional components or programming, or is available in a more limited form
Characteristic Description timer Comfort Timer Time Switch Minitornic Winitronic Wisotronic 1 Channel Wisotronic 2 Channel Wisotronic 3 Channel Quatronic Climatronic
Channel Quantity A channel is a group of products that operate according to the same automatic function(s). Example roller blinds north façade all drop at the same sun level. It is a separate concept to wall switches and not to be confused with the number of wall switched groups that are possible. In the example used all roller blinds on the north facade could have individual wall switches and be separately operable, but a sun command will operate them as a group. 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 3 4 32
Max number of motors The number of motors or appliances that can be connected to the system. If number is exceeded simply use more than one system. 1200 1200 1200 1200 1200 1200 1200 1200 1200 1200
Low level interface to home automation or building management system The ability to transmit, receive or exchange simple analog commands with the principle building management system via voltage free contacts.
Fault code export The ability to export a fault code to an external BMS system
Freely assemblable local wall switching groups Any arrangement of groups of blinds or individual blinds can be operated by local wall switch.
Remote Control receiver in the central unit.
Remote control receiver in the field In the field handheld or wall mounted radio transmitting (non wired) switches, operating freely assemblable groups of products.

FunctionDescription timer Comfort Timer Time Switch Minitornic Winitronic Wisotronic 1 Channel Wisotronic 2 Channel Wisotronic 3 Channel Quatronic Climatronic
Sun Sensoring Sun Sesoring Directional measurement of outside lux levels. The number of connectable sensors is shown     1 1   1 2 3 4 12
Slat Turning Slat Turning After descending slatted products such as external venetian blinds can be programmed to tilt to a specified angle.
Sun Tracking Sun Tracking Mathematical calculation of the position of the sun at any moment relative to the orientation (compass direction) of the product. Used in general to provide consistent shading levels with slatted products.
Dawn & Dusk Control dawn_dusk  Drives the products to a programmed position at dawn and dusk. For example a school may prefer blinds retracted at dusk and a homeowner may prefer blinds dropped.
Timer Direct Drive Timer Direct Drive Drives a channel to a position at a programmed time
Timer Auto Functions Timer Direct Drive Sets an another automatic function to commence at a particular time ie Begin sun sensoring at 8am
Temperature Direct Drive Temperature Sensing Drives a channel to a particular position based on internal or external temperature
Temperature Enable Auto Functions Temperature Sensing Sets an another automatic function to commence at a particular temperature ie Begin sun sensoring at 18 degrees internal temperature.
Temperature Difference Functions Temperature Sensing Measurement of internal and external temperatures and movement of a product based on temperature difference within a temperature range.
Cold Protection Temperature Sensing Overiding command to move a product to a position based on a low temperature threshold
Ice Alarm Ice Alarm Uses rain and temperature data to establish if ice is present and retracts external products accordingly.
Rain Monitor I/O dawn_dusk
Detects rain and accoringly can retract external fabric products or close windows.       1 1 1 1 1 4 12
Wind Sensoring Wind Sensing Measurement of wind speed
Wind Direction Sensor Wind Sensing Measurement of wind direction
Intermittent Ventilation ventilation Period (programmable) operation of a product (normally windows) based on a temperature threshold.
Humidity Control Humidity Sensing Drives a channel to a particular position based on inside or outside humidity.
