Premium office spaces in Sydney are a complex design process balancing the thermal performance of the façade and daylight balance with the celebrated views of the harbour city. In this project Shade Factor was briefed by Hassell Architects to provide a solution that could reflect a high percentage of incident solar radiation whilst limiting the overall façade reflectivity.
The WAREMA specialised mill slat venetian blind returns a high percentage of the UV and Infrared components of the solar spectrum to the exterior and redirects daylight to the workspaces. The interior slat surface is perforated with matte, non reflective finish to provide views even in the closed position.
The 2800 blinds over 31 levels are driven by a WAREMA KNX control system with full sun tracking and shadow modelling capability integrated with the BMS for administrative functions and accessible via tenant portal.
WAREMA blinds and controls are a major contributor to the energy efficiency of this premium six star Green Star project.
