The building is defined by an elliptical floor plate and raked roof form, creating non-standard geometry across multiple levels. Wardle describes the project as “a striking commercial tower providing a dynamic addition to a city skyline” and highlights the intent to maximise views through flexible floor plates.
Westfield Design & Construction notes the development as part of a coordinated precinct approach integrating retail, commercial tenancies and shared infrastructure within a single site.
The building’s geometry and raked roof conditions required bespoke internal shading solutions across non-standard areas.
Shade Factor was engaged to deliver custom shading systems for selected applications within the tower, responding to inclined roof conditions and irregular geometries.
Custom venetian blinds were developed for installation beneath glazed roof areas, including reclined operation to suit the angled plane. These systems required prototyping to achieve correct movement and alignment.
Custom asymmetric fabric blinds were used where rectangular systems were not suitable due to irregular geometry.
Retractable textile systems were also delivered in 3, 4 and 5 sided configurations, incorporating base-up and top-down operation.
A LONWorks control system was integrated to coordinate shading operation across nominated zones.
